Within Hyper-V, each VM has an unique ID that is used to assign permissions to the VM’s configuration files and VHD’s. When you (accidentally) overwrite these permissions, your virtual machines won’t start and you’ll receive the following error:

These settings can be reset by re-adding the GUID of the VM to the files that belong to the VM. These files are presented to you in the above error. This is done by following these steps:
